OSL - Using BTCat to Bring in Records via Z39.50

This training will be held in the Seminar Room at Providence Public Library.

Learn how to use BTCat to search for bibliographic records to bring into Sierra via Z39.50.

This session is for any cataloger who adds new bib records to Sierra. If you currently use Z39.50 to bring records into Sierra, this will be very similar, and you should plan to attend. If you bring records into Sierra by searching FirstSearch and using bib templates in Sierra, this session is for you as well.

This is also open to anyone who has previously taken a virtual BTCat training and would like a refresher.

This is a single concentrated 3-hour session, in person at Providence Public Library on Monday, February 6th at 1:00pm. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early so that we can start on time. We also recommend bringing a laptop with Sierra installed so that you may follow along.

Please register at least one week in advance (by January 27th) so that we can have logins made for everyone. This session is limited to 15 registrants.

In the case of inclement weather, the session will be moved to Thursday, February 9th at 10:30am. After registering, please send an email to training@oslri.net with a phone number where you can be reached should there be inclement weather and you do not have access to email late the evening before or the morning of the training.
