Genealogy Resources through the Census Bureau
Genealogy research is a popular hobby among library patrons. If you would like to better assist patrons with their research, learn about genealogy research yourself, or want to ensure you have the most up-to-date information about the Census Bureau's genealogy resources, then this workshop is for you!
Data Dissemination Specialist Nicole McKenzie will educate attendees about Census Bureau records that can provide information on genealogy. Attendees will learn about accessing Census Bureau records back to 1790, the National Archives, the 72-year rule, and how to search online for publicly released census records by year and ancestor’s name. Attendees will also learn how to request their own census records before public release.
